When setting out to prepare the Garrison apartment project, we had a long list of tasks to be carried out – the space was to be modern but cosy, fashionable but timeless, avant-garde but classical, original but universal … and all this on 42 square meters … Fortunately, in addition to quite high expectations, we got a large loan of trust from the investors. We wanted a small apartment to become a space that would satisfy all the needs of the owner and in a few years, more inhabitants …
One of the most interesting elements is the island made of polished steel. Owing to that, a quite substantial shape, housing all the kitchen functions, disappears, reflecting the light and space of the living room. In the living room, attention is drawn to a bookcase inspired by the works of Piet Modrian. This furniture, thanks to the closed and opened modules, organizes books and trinkets necessary in every apartment. All doors have been made in a sliding system so as not to lose valuable centimetres and to harmoniously connect spaces.
In the bathroom we have opted for white and maximum use of space – in such a small room there is space for a collection of perfumes, as well as for doing laundry …
A bedroom is a completely different world – here you can clearly feel that we are on the top floor of the building, not only because of the beautiful panorama of Gdansk outside the window, but also because of the moons; painted on the ceiling in 3 colours, additionally illuminated according to the mood of the owner…
